5.1 Initiating a primary controller shift in an
undened network using RZ1
Should you wish to carry out a controller shift before a network has
been set-up this will be available by following the steps below:
1. With the PROG LED ashing GREEN, push the PROG button for
at least 12 seconds.
2. The PROG LED will turn solid ORANGE to indicate that the
controller shift mode has been activated.
3. Press and release the CH1 button and the PROG LED will ash
RED slowly to indicate that a controller shift is occurring.
4. Start the inclusion process on the controller to be added to the
network as a replacement primary controller.
5. If the process is successful, the PROG LED will show solid RED,
failure will be indicated by the PROG LED ashing ORANGE.
6. To return to normal RUN mode, press the PROG button, the LED
will show GREEN.
7. If the process has failed, press and release the PROG button,
the PROG LED will show solid RED and the process can be
repeated.
A network primary controller shift can not be started if:
1. The RZ1/RZ1-HP has created the network and is the existing
primary, as it is the networks SIS by default.
2. The RZ1/RZ1-HP is a secondary network controller and not the
SUC and no other SIS is in the network.
If a user attempts to do a controller shift and points 1 and 2 apply the
process will fail automatically.
